Widening Circles of Influence - An Evaluation of the Equalities Board

This report, originally written for Ambition for Ageing Partners, reflects on the work of the Equalities Board, and its value as part of Ambition for Ageing.

It shows that the Equalities Board had an impact on Ambition for Ageing, as much in the way things were done across the programme, as what was done. The Equalities Board had a strongly inclusive culture of collaboration, consensus and community, established through co-production. The Equalities Board promulgated an inclusive mindset which influenced the way that older people were thought about within Ambition for Ageing. Through its democratic structure it provided access to this large, well-funded programme for small, community-based equalities organisations, as well as for individuals from minority or marginalised communities.

We will soon be publishing a briefing for practitioners to support them in using using the findings from this report in their own work.
